Portsmouth 100 Carers Photography Competition

We are delighted to share that the Portsmouth 100 Carers Photography Competition has now closed, and we have been truly inspired by the incredible entries submitted by unpaid carers across the city.
This special competition was created to celebrate both the experiences of our carer-friendly community and 100 years of Portsmouth, and you did not disappoint. Each submission captured meaningful moments, places, and acts of kindness that reflect what it means to be a carer in Portsmouth today.
Thank You to Everyone Who Entered
We would like to say a huge thank you to every carer who took the time to share their story through photography.
From quiet moments by the sea to welcoming community spaces and everyday acts of kindness, your images beautifully highlighted the importance of building a carer-friendly city where carers feel supported, valued, and understood.

After careful consideration by our judging panel, we are pleased to share our winning entries.
The judging panel were looking for creativity, originality, and a strong connection to the theme of carer-friendly communities, and these entries stood out for their powerful storytelling and emotional impact:
Submission Showcase: Shortlisted
Thank you for the diverse array of submissions – a true reflection of Portsmouth’s caring community.
Celebrating Our Carer Community
Winning and shortlisted photographs were showcased during our Carers Week Celebration Event at Victoria Park, where carers, professionals, and members of the community came together to celebrate the important role carers play across Portsmouth.
The exhibition highlighted just how vital it is to create spaces and communities that support carers in their everyday lives.
A Lasting Legacy
Although the competition has now closed, its message continues. The photographs shared will help raise awareness of unpaid carers and inspire others to think about how we can all contribute to a more carer-friendly Portsmouth.
Thank you again to everyone who took part and helped make this competition so meaningful.
