Portsmouth Carers Service is a support service for unpaid/informal carers , providing:

Carer’s Assessments
Carers Break Sessions
Emotional Support
Emergency Planning
Training Opportunities
Signposting

Making a Referral

If you are a professional who would like to make a referral into our service, please ensure:

  • referrals are for the CARER only (not the cared for)
  • that you have obtained the carer’s permission to refer them

Criteria:

  • carer must be over 18 years old
  • their cared for must live in PO1-PO6 please note – there is no minimum criteria for level of care provided. If they are caring for someone outside of PO1-PO6, please see our Support in Other Areas page

    Young Carer Referrals

    If you would like to refer a young carer (under 18 years old), please contact the Young Carers team.
